Melvin Sokolsky for Harper’s Bazaar Magazine 1963
Melvin Sokolsky was born and raised in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, he became known primarily for his groundbreaking editorial work and celebrity portraiture, and to this day is one of the great pioneers in the creation of visual imagery. Melvin once said, “Really, I’m only interested in photography as a tool for exploring and visualizing psychological and emotional conditions.”. I think a lot of photographers will agree with him.
